比如：有一个 SaaS product, 它想知道为什么 trial to paid user 变少了？

第一步，首先把 problem statement 写在鱼的头部。

第二步，你要分类。

一个 product 就是为了 user 而设计的，所以先把 product 和 customer 这两个 category 写下来。

🐬 每一个 category 再细分，比如：product 下有：registration, user onboarding and other different product features.

🐬 Customer 下有: trial vs. paid; new vs. repeat, buyers vs. sellers, etc.

🐬 Platform 下有 business process, 这个就具体问题具体分析了，根据不同公司不同产品的运作而有所不同。Click here 如果你不知道 business process 是什么。这是一个非常重要的概念！

第三步，this is where the magic happens!

Use simple permutation, 也就是交叉排列来问问题：比如---

- How do trial vs. paid customers use our product differently?

- How do the top vs bottom users use the platform differently?

- What are the features that made people buy?

- What are the product features used most frequently by top vs. bottom users?

- Is the business process positively impacting the product performance?

Step 1 - Figure out the business process by asking for the definition of an active user. The process in this case is: register --> fill out a form --> make a purchase.

Step 2 - Figure out if it is a marketing problem, a product problem, or a business process problem? 也就是说，是三个齿轮当中的哪一个？

Step 3 - 运用你对 drivers and outcomes 的理解，break down the problem using the MECE framework. 别忘了要和 hiring manager 不断沟通，因为答案不重要，你是怎么得到这个答案的，你的思考过程，才是她在乎的!
